Traveling Boy (from 4-2-08)

Hi everybody!

Things have been very busy for me lately. I got back a couple of weeks ago from South Carolina. That is where my Momma grew up, and my grandparents live. I stayed with my grandmommy and granddaddy, and I got to see so many new people. I saw my mammaw, granddaddy, great granddaddy and great grandmommy, and my great uncle bo and great aunt jan. I also saw some cousins of momma, Reed and Lindsay, and their momma and daddy, my great aunt Denise and great uncle David. Hey, that’s my middle name!!

I met my momma’s best friend Becky, and her baby Ruby. Ruby was really cute, and little like me…but she could walk. I wish I could walk! Oh, and I also met my cousin, Collin. He is a month older than me, and could talk and play with hands…I can too now! I grabbed his hand once…He has little hands like me!

I did not like the airplane. Momma said we had to go on it, but I got so tired of sitting in the same place for so long, and there was no bouncy seat or swing….but Momma held me real close to her, and rocked me back and forth, and I slept a lot.

I was glad when we got back to California and I got to see Daddy! He looked happy to see me too. I think Momma was happy to be back too.

Let’s see…Oh, my uncle Matthew came and visited me this week. He was very nice, and I liked sitting with him. He said he loved me very much, and that’s why he came all the way from Florida (which is where it is nice and warm and Disney World is) to see me!! That was nice.

Last week I went to my school and visited with my teachers…Their names are Miss Tina, Miss Kim, and Miss Robin. I cried when they held me because they didn’t smell like Momma, but Momma said that they will love me very much and take good care of me. I am supposed to be a good boy for them. There is another little boy in my class who is 3 months older than me. He likes to be held too, and cried when Miss Tina held me. I hope we can be friends!

Oh, and Momma and Daddy’s friends, Miss Beth and Mr. Nick came and stayed with us for a new days. They were nice too. And Miss Beth liked to play with me while I was on my gym mat. She had a nice smile :)

I saw my doctor, Dr. Flanzbaum a few weeks ago, and he checked me all out, and said I was very healthy, except I had very dry skin. Momma has been working on it…she thinks I may have an allergy to something. I don’t know what an allergy is! The nurse also gave me some shots, and they hurt a lot!! I was not very happy and cried for a long time. After Momma nursed me when we got home, I fell asleep on her shoulder, and she put in the crib unswaddled, and I slept for a long time (45 minutes Momma said). She said that is unheard of. I weigh 12 lbs, and 3.5 oz, and am 23 and ½ inches long! Momma said she had to pack up all my 0-3 month clothes cause they don’t fit anymore. Oh well, I have a lot of other neat clothes.

I can’t think of anything else to write. All that typing made me tired. I think I will go to sleep. Momma rolled her eyes and said she wishes.

Love and hugs and kisses!

Charlie

From Elizabeth:

Charlie also got his passport, and that was an interesting procedure, but he now ready to travel the world! And he got his picture taken with the Easter Bunny, and amazingly didn’t scream during that!

He has now found his hands, and although he is not enthralled with them, he does hold them together often, and loves to suck on them. He is drooling up a storm, and loves to smile at everyone. He coos and ohs and ahs and eees. His Daddy and I are still working on getting him to roll over more frequently. Charlie is very stubborn about that…Not that his stubbornness is a surprise!!
